park tool is quality shit, alittle more $ then most options out there but you get well more then what you pay for. this tool is made to last, hit up your local shop and tell them to special order it for you. worth every cent. shop quality tool made to last, park tool is like snap on tools and there are very few companies that i can say that about.
the park tool ct7 chain breaker works with all kinds of kmc chains i could ever get my hands on, half links, full tracks, anything,
only some chain tools work with shadow half links, and most of them will die from use because the shadow chain is one of the strongest bmx chains on the market right now. this tool works great with the shadow,
the best chains i have found are the kmc 710 kool chain if you want a full track thats light weight but strong.
for 4 peg street ridin i like the shadow half link more because i have never had a single problem with them, they last me longer then kmc 710s but even then my last 710 i got more then a solid year of riding with and i could have replaced the links but i knew wheelies rapped my chain.
this chain tool is easy to clean, you get a great amount of leverage, thing is bigger then any other chain tool ive seen and its not meant for carrying in your bag as you cry about the weight of it, but it is shop quality so if you ride alot and do your own work i can not recommend this tool enough.
next review up will probably be bondhus allen keys metric brite guard set, also very good quality tools
dude that chainbreaker was terrible hard when i was trying to shorten my shadow chain, ben was there and the threading wasnt long enough so i cudent get the pin far out enough to push in the fully extended pin, its fine for breaking an existing chain tho
ReplyDeleteactually maby it was the ct5 i was using, sry dude
ReplyDeletei know exactaly what your talking about, you mean the ct5 tho i also have that one and experienced the same problem with shadow chains on it, the ct7 handles everything dude this is the one the shop uses
