Castle, & The Sword. American Sharks opened and they were really awsome. The feel of the band
reminded me of Venom, and they're songs were short and quick like Black Flag. The drummer spilt beer
over his drums and when he played the next song the water shot off his drums with each beat and was really
cool looking & i had never seen it before, i plan to use that trick in the future w/ my own band. The bass
was also the singer and down to earth type guy, on the way out after the concert he was greeting us and
shaking hands... cool dude. During this band i lit up a joint i snuck in my breeches while in G.A. and real
quick the security grabbed me and threw me into the street, i saved the joint in my pocket somehow. I was
mad as fuck that i got thrown out before seeing the sword play as i have seen them play N.Y. in april and i
came to see them that night, but what i didn't know was Kyle Shutt the guitarist for The Sword was
watching the opening band from the crowd. He happened to see me get kicked out and he came out after
me. He greeted me and i was awe struck, i offered him a smoke and we cyfed together and had a nice
coversation lol. Afterward he got me back in. Next up was castle and they played a song before the guitarist
had tech difficulties w/ his marshal half stack. The drummer went for a 30 min solo w/ the female bass/singer
who wasnt all too good but the drummer deff knew what he was doing. The venue happened to have a
spare marshal double 50 watt laying around and the guitarist set it up and they played like 2 more songs
before they ran out of time. When the sword came on the crowd went wild. They were awsome, i lit a
cigarette and kyle saw me and laughed. I held it up and security tryed to nab me but i ran into the pitt and
they wouldn't follow me into that. I was really disappointed w/ the strictness of "no smoking" in that hipster
ass venue. Later on i made it to the front row and when the sword finished up Kyle handed me his guitar
pick, now i have 2 of his picks as i caught one at their last concert. I had a real good time and highly
recommend seeing the sword live, they're albums sound zeppelin ish, but live its 100% thrash.
